At the age of 10, Arthur started taking drum lessons from Wim van Hamersveld in Dieren. Learning to read notes properly and the more jazzy / classical training. Arthur was a big Peter Criss fan and started to go more into the harder work. In 1983 he started his first band, T-KJB together with guitarist and co-composer Robert Zwartkruis. They wrote a lot of songs, but they only performed once in Velp. In 1985 he formed Sanitairy Towel together with Nick Boerma (guitar), Marco van Nek (guitar). Later Cas Rasing (bass) and Marcel Roulofsen (vocals) joined. Since Arthur was more of a writer and studio musician, he handed over his sticks to Marcel Borsje. The years after that he focused more on writing and was a “hired gun” for several bands in the studio and live. The last band he toured with was Remain. In 1993 he decided to stop as a musician and focus on work and family. In 2005 Arthur stopped playing drums altogether due to wrist and elbow problems.
