Dirk Seiler is a German drummer who works in the fields of jazz, fusion, and pop music.

Seiler began learning the recorder and clarinet as a child; from 1973, he took drum lessons with Bernd Steffen (Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz). From 1976, he played in dance bands, wind orchestras, and the Harro Steffen Big Band. From 1985 to 1993, he studied classical percussion at the Cologne University of Music and Performing Arts, and from 1989 to 1994, he also studied jazz percussion with Jeff Hamilton, Keith Copeland, and Peter Giger, among others. During this time, he was a member of the German Federal Jazz Orchestra (Bundesjazzorchester) under the direction of Peter Herbolzheimer from 1989 to 1991 and contributed to his album Bujazzo Vol. II. He has also played with Randy Brecker, Slide Hampton, Jiggs Whigham, Ack van Rooyen, Silvia Droste, and the Glenn Miller Orchestra (Ghost Band), with various rock and blues bands, and as a session musician in musical, radio, and television productions, including with Ron Williams and the WDR magazine west.art. From the mid-1990s onward, he worked with the Frank Barani Big Band, Peter Koller, Eden West, and the Peter Autschbach Project, among others. With his pop band Kölner Seelen, he recorded the album Im Westen was Neues in 2011. Seiler lives in Montabaur, Westerwald.
