Drummer, Songwriter and Multi-instrumentalist
Ivar de Graaf (51) started his musical journey at the age of 16, when he discovered his passion for drumming. He was taught by Charles Schouten and developed a style that is mainly characterized by rock and progressive rock, with rich influences from folk and world music.
As a drummer, Ivar made a name for himself with the internationally known band Within Temptation, where he made an important contribution until his departure in 2002. Since then, he has fully focused on his own band Kingfisher Sky. With this formation, he explores a unique musical mix of progressive rock and folk.
In addition to drumming, Ivar also masters various string instruments, including guitar and bouzouki. He uses this versatility not only to play, but also to write his own songs. His compositions reflect his broad musical influences and his constant search for new ways to tell stories through music.
