Jarkko started to play drums at age of 8. He played in different cover bands during the years. As from 1985-1993 he didn’t play much in bands cause he was a professional athletic in iceball club OLS in his hometown Oulu and serving year in army. After that he again started to play in different cover bands and bands who play old ballroom dance music. His current band was founded in 2015 will have their 10 year anniversary in march 2025. They started out to play Jimi Hendrix, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd and so on. With their current female singer Sanna they also started to play Janis Joplin, Dusty Springfield, cranberries etc.
His gig set is old Beverley Set from year 1960. It has 13 tt, 16 ft and 22 bd. The set is mahogany. As A snare he uses Jackshop custom maple snare 14 x6,5. Other snares he sometimes uses are Pearl Masters maple 14×6,5 and Sonor special edition 14×7 birch. Jarkko also owns a kit Gretsch Catalina maple 12tt, 14 and 16ft, 22 bd. As for cymbals He uses Finnish label Sihi. Sihi sysi series 14hh, 17,18 and 19 crashes. Ride is 21. for pedal he uses Yamaha 9500C single pedal. As hardware he uses Pearl and Tama. For practice he uses Sihi Kaski and kaaos series.
Jarkko owns lots of cymbals like Paiste 2002 and formula 602 series, Meinl byzance series, Centent, Istanbul alchemy professional series, Impression. He owns about 60 cymbals which he mostly use in festivals where he worked as a drum tech.
