Publicly and professionally, Jejo Perkovic is a Swedish drummer who first made noise in the hardcore band Brick before stepping behind the kit for cult indie institution The Bear Quartet, where his inventive, dynamic playing became a key part of the band’s sound across a long string of albums and tours.

His hard-hitting but always song-serving style led him into the world of heavy music with doom metal legends Candlemass, appearing on albums like Dactylis Glomerata and From the 13th Sun, as well as the progressive/doom project Abstrakt Algebra, led by Candlemass founder Leif Edling. He later brought the same precision and power to high-energy rock with Mustasch. Along the way he has produced records (including Fireside’s Uomini D’onore) and been a trusted studio drummer for bands such as Randy, Starmarket, Breach, Carptree and many others, moving effortlessly between hardcore, indie, metal and experimental rock.

Today, Jejo is the long-time drummer for Swedish hip-hop/rock collective Infinite Mass (behind the kit since 1999) and the current drummer for reunited Umeå hardcore pioneers Abhinanda (since the late 2010s), appearing on their comeback single Tsunami and live shows in the 2020s. With a powerful groove, sharp dynamics and a deep sense of what each song needs, he continues to be one of the most versatile and respected drummers on the Scandinavian music scene – a true backbone in every band he plays with.
