Tennessee Drifters is a rockabilly trio from Eindhoven/Almaar.
These three experienced musicians came together with one goal: to make sensible music from the heart.
With an authentic line-up of drums, double bass, guitar and vocals, they play well-known and lesser-known fifties songs (covers) in their own way, supplemented with original songs.
Peter de Wit, double bassist/singer, is the former frontman of the well-known band Slapback Johnny.
Drummer Rob van Sambeek has played drums with Bang Bang Bazooka and Jeroen van Delden, guitarist/singer is also a guitarist with Supersonics and was also previously with Texarkana Trio.
In the Popei Studio in Eindhoven, Tennessee Drifters recorded 14 of their own songs under the direction of Roel Blommers, 12 of which were written by singer and guitarist Jeroen van Delden. The 14 songs have now been fully mixed and remastered, so that they can be released on the market. The vocals were neatly divided between Jeroen, bassist Peter de Wit and Marcel Hoitsema, singer of the band Bang Bang Bazooka, which disbanded 35 years ago. Marcel also regularly joins Tennessee Drifters at performances. A collaboration that will continue to happen from time to time in the future.
As a precursor to the full album, Tennessee Drifters will release their first vinyl single on Rocking Rebel Records on April 4. It contains ‘Rocking Rebels Rock On / Private Eye’, on which Marcel Hoitsema is also present and also wrote these songs. The band is currently negotiating with another label to release their first full-fledged album ‘Life Is Pretty’. This is expected to happen within a maximum of six months. The title ‘Life Is Pretty’ is largely appropriate in a time of polarization. The motto is therefore ‘Rock & Roll unites’.
