Steve has been playing drums for more years than he cares to remember.

He had his first drum kit, a junior one, not a toy, when he was not quite 4 years old.

At the age of 6, he was sent for piano lessons, which he stayed with until the aged of 14. During that period he passed what seemed like an endless stream of exams, in both written theory and playing.

It was his love for rock music that rekindled the urge to take up drums again and within a few months was playing in a band.

Initially self-taught, Steve realised that the only way he was going to reach a higher standard of playing and improve his technique, was to get professional help. A few years of lessons, studying and practising, allowed him to develop as a musician and has helped him play a wider variety of music styles.

Over the years, Steve has played on a number of releases on vinyl, cassette and CD’s, with various bands and singers. He has recorded sessions for Radio 1, including The Friday Rock Show and for various local radio stations, in England and Wales. He has played in most of the major concert venues and music venues in the UK, as well as venues and festivals across Europe.

Over the years, his services have been in demand, playing with original rock, AOR and progressive rock bands, blues bands, classic rock covers, mainstream covers bands, also Metallica, Genesis and Rory Gallagher covers bands.

As part of the Sons Of Liberty, since their creation in 2014, he has progressed along with them to performing only their own original songs, as of 2018.

Recording three EP’s, SHINOLA, AGED IN OAK and THE DETAILS OF THE DEVIL and, so far, three albums, ANIMISM, ACES AND EIGHTS and THE DETAIL IS IN THE DEVIL.

The success of these and the band’s excellent live shows, have helped in getting Steve further recognised. He is currently endorsed by The Londondrumstick Company and Code drum heads.
