When he was little he already played on all the pots and pans. After a while his parents were done with that and when he was eight he got a real drum kit. In the beginning playing was a bit difficult, but once he got drum lessons he made great progress. From home he also got a love for hard punk, which he mainly played. After a while he wanted to make his own music and together with his brother and two cousins they started their first punk band called ‘de Raggertjes’. They had a few cool performances in a few years. Unfortunately this also fell apart after a while. He continued to practice and play for himself, but in terms of bands and his own music it was pretty quiet for two years. Until he responded to an advertisement to come and play in a metal band. He had never used a double pedal, in fact, he didn’t even have one at home. He quickly ordered one and learned as much as possible within three weeks. Fortunately it paid off and it was an immediate match. Since then he plays for Suspect Hostile. He still does this with great pleasure. They have played many cool shows, including with Voivod and released their first album in 2023. Still a personal highlight. They have been around for five years now and are still busy performing and making new music. Hopefully this will never end because that is the best thing about drumming.
