Wim studied at the Rotterdam Conservatory. Through various pop, rock, blues, symphonic and music theatre groups, including “Het Kleine Flippen” (coached by actor Peter Faber), his interest turned to jazz, fusion and Brazilian music.
He played in a number of jazz formations, including the “Mariette Harinck Trio”, the quartet of baritone saxophonist Henk van Es, “Jazzmijn” and the group “B-Wegen”, with which they played for the VARA radio.
After that period he had his own fusion trio “P.I.T.”, with which they also played for the VARA radio.
Wim was part of the Brazilian group Palmeira, from which the LP “Palmeira” was released.
With the 10-man formation “De Grote Terts Inc” he played at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 1985 and performed in Paris, Damascus, Brussels and Bremen.
Wim also toured the Netherlands with an Elvis Presley show and in the 80s he performed for German television with the hit “Weekend” by Earth & Fire.
Nowadays he plays with the band “Jazz or No” and the Dutch Bluesband “Route 61”.
