Alex was introduced to drumming from an early age. Inspired by his father – who provided music for many a party with his band – he picked up the sticks at a young age, which he would never let go of for the rest of his life.
When his father was not on the road with the band, Alex could let loose on his drum kit. At the same time, at the age of 7, he joined the local band as a drummer, where he took his first real steps as a musician. Literally, because together with the band he marched through half of Europe and became champion of the Netherlands and Germany, among other things.
After a flirtation with the guitar during his teenage years, it became clear that Alex was best at drumming. His career as a drummer really started when blues guitarist Hein ‘Little Boogie Boy’ Meijer asked him to be a stand-in drummer. During the same period, Alex also played with guitarist Chris ‘C’ Clemens in the Blues Revue. Later, he occupied the drum stool for many years with the Beaverhunt Bluesband.
After a while, Alex decided to look further than just the blues and also focus on the slightly harder stuff. Around 2012, he joined Bad Obsession, a Guns ‘n Roses tribute band, and a few years later he started working with party cover band GoetFoud.
In 2019, a new step followed when Alex joined Copperhead County. With this southern rock formation, he has since toured Europe and played in pubs, clubs and at festivals from the Netherlands to Slovakia, from Belgium to the Czech Republic and from Germany to Austria.
