Born in 1980 and busy drumming from the age of eight. Between the ages of 13 and 21, Davy explored pop, rock, punk rock and metal bands as well as blues, jazz, light music and funk in numerous bands and projects.

At the age of 21, he was accepted at the Rock Academy in Tilburg.

At that time, he participated in a competition by Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon). What was intended as a singing competition, Davy saw as an opportunity to draw attention to his drumming by completely re-recording the music with a number of musicians.

More than a year later, Lucassen invited him to contribute to the bonus disc of the reissue of his first Ayreon record. One of Davy’s favorite albums. From there, he became the drummer of Stream Of Passion. Arjen’s new project, with members from the Netherlands, Sweden and Mexico. A worldwide release of their debut album ‘Embrace the storm’ followed, video clips (including on MTV), European tours, a live DVD, etc.

After an extensive change of band members, the album ‘The flame within’ followed. Davy played on the record, but before they started touring with it, he had to drop out. When fatherhood came around the corner, he had to slow down.

In the meantime, he was also writing, recording and touring with pop-punk-rock band Clueless and had played on the first album of Unwritten Pages, while he was still a student and gave drum lessons.

An inevitable burn-out abruptly put an end to all drum adventures. He never recovered properly and now suffers from ME/CFS, a serious multisystem disease in which fatigue plays the largest, but certainly not the only role. Davy found a new creative outlet in photography and nowadays mainly focuses on making creative portraits. (Photo: Nicole Jansen)
