Debbie comes from a very musical family, of which her father played bass in many bands. Her 2 brothers and 2 cousins were at that time the youngest pop group in the Netherlands with The Little Kalong good for the golden penny at the program stuif es in. Debbie was therefore raised behind and on the stage. As a little girl she already knew that she wanted to drum, but her feet could not reach the pedals yet so she always had to stand. After a lot of watching the musicians who rehearsed at their house, she got the taste and knew this is it; I want to drum. Around the age of 12 she was allowed to play with Cesar Zuiderwijk at a demonstration in Dordrecht. Around the age of 18 a drama happened that we will not elaborate on here, which made her put down her sticks. Debbie did not drum for 33 years (although she did always hit everything with her hands for the beat). Until her friend asked her to start a temporary band, which she said yes to. Now 7 years later with a drum kit of her dreams, drummer of “Catch the band” and Tribute band Anouk she is catching up on all the stopped years. Furthermore she thinks it is great to go to Jam sessions and just play.
