Marcel Bach started playing the drums in 1981 at the age of seven. Since 1988, he has played in a large number of bands of different styles, which is reflected in versatility of his playing. His studies (Bachelor of music) at the Enschede Conservatory in the Netherlands gave him the opportunity to further develop his style of playing, reaching a higher musical and technical level. During the last few years, Marcel has published several popular drum books. He works as a drum instructor at the Westphalian Music School in Muenster, Germany, and as a private teacher. As of 2006 he has become known in the drumming scene, also through his clinics and workshops. He has participated in many drum festivals and music fairs alongside drummers such as Aaron Spears, Chris Coleman, Horacio Hernandez, Dom Famularo, Benny Greb, Carmine Appice, Carl Palmer, Alan White, Will Calhoun, The Drumbassadors, George Kollias and many more. In 2007 he was added to the list of the top 500 drummers (worldwide) with his own artist page and a detailed presentation on the drummerworld.com website. His solo records, solo live performances, and drum book releases have received positive reviews worldwide. In 2008 and 2018, Marcel was honored with the German Rock and Pop Award in the category ‘best drummer’ as well as in 2012 and 2015 in the category ‘best instrumental soloist’.
