Mauricio Chamucero never just kept time—he shattered it. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Chamucero’s journey from street band snare to international metal stages is defined by fire forged precision and thunderous passion. By his early teens he was hooked on rhythm, marching toward full metal fury.
Career Highlights:
• Forging a Path Through Metal’s Elite: Mauricio Chamucero built his reputation behind the kit with a wide range of heavy acts—from modern thrash titans Savage Messiah to power metal trailblazers like DragonForce and ShadowKeep, as well as NWOBHM veterans Blaze Bayley (Iron Maiden), Rogue Male, Battleaxe, and Weapon UK. His current project, The Blind See, explores a bold fusion of progressive and Latin metal—still in its early stages, but already rich with rhythmic depth and creative ambition.
• Mauricio Chamucero also laid down several session drum tracks for (Grammy nominated band), DragonForce’s, explosive second album, Sonic Firestorm (2004)—a landmark in power metal known for its blistering speed, technical ferocity, and genre-defining energy. His drumming helped shape the album’s relentless pace and remains a fan favourite in the band’s early discography.
• Savage Messiah (UK/Europe): As the band’s drummer, Mauricio propelled Savage Messiah to new heights:
- Signed to Earache Records in August 2010, a career-defining deal that included recording the celebrated Plague of Conscience (released January 2012)
- Played iconic festivals such as, Hammerfest, Bloodstock Open Air, Hard Rock Hell and Devilstone Open Air Festival in Lithuania, as the band toured Europe and the UK.
• The Bounded (2012–16): Co-founded this side-project, carving out a tight, international sound that blended raw power and tight composure, all while overcoming geographic and political hurdles.
