At the age of 7, Paul started as a percussionist with the percussion group of Uitgeest. After a few years of lessons, he took part in solo competitions where he became “Dutch Champion” on the snare drum four times. After high school, he immediately made the move to the Conservatory, where he chose the direction “classical percussion”. After this study, he did a follow-up study for drums. Paul taught drums for a number of years at Drumschool Cleuver in The Hague. Drumschool Cleuver was voted the best drum school in the Benelux for 10 years in a row. Paul also often stood in for Hans Cleuver during that time, who had also been voted the best drum teacher in the poll election for many years. With this good experience in his pocket, Paul started his own drum school in Heerhugowaard in 2007. Here he now passes on his knowledge to young and old. In 2007, Paul wrote a 4-part drum course for the percussion newspaper, the drum magazine of the Netherlands! In 2015, Paul was elected 2nd drum teacher Benelux.
