Drums for more than half a century Blues rock jazz pop you name it. Pieter was born in Alphen A/D Rijn. At the age of 15 he had his first performance with Scopos, a nice teenage band. When he ended up in Gouda it became serious. Met many interesting people and learned a lot. After that Pieter had many other bands In the studio with Dandy Lion and other studio work, record contract, made a video clip and many performances in pop, rock, big band up to a humorous dance orchestra. In addition to Long Way Blues played a lot with Scuttle buttin with whom a tribute to Steve Re Vaughn CD was also made.

He himself is a fan of Tony Coleman, drummer BB king. Tony has beautiful statements: “I was born as a drummer and for as long as I can remember I have known that I am a drummer. A guitarist has to learn to play the guitar. For some it is easier than for others, it forms over the years. A drummer wakes up and starts banging and tapping on the kitchen table, or using a spoon to scratch the rim of his coffee mug. When I listen to music I feel the rhythm and the groove and I grab every opportunity to make it my own. All my life I have been fascinated by drumming, drummers and drum sets. A drumbeat is the heartbeat of the music. A guitarist or keyboard player can take their hands off the instrument without any noticeable effect. When a drummer stops the whole band is at a loss because the heart stops beating, the music literally dies.”
