Jeroen Mooi and Wouter Lemmen are the percussionists of the Dutch indie band The Awkward. Jeroen is the drummer, while Wouter plays percussion. Having been friends for over ten years before joining the band, they have developed a strong musical connection, both on and off the stage. Their shared passion for music and rhythm is the foundation of their dynamic playing style.
Beyond performing, Jeroen and Wouter find great joy in writing and creating music together. They love experimenting with sounds, grooves, and arrangements, always striving to add fresh energy to their music. Their creativity and mutual understanding make them an essential driving force behind The Awkward’s sound.
Outside of The Awkward, Wouter is the drummer for the cover band Wendy and works as a music therapist, using music to connect and heal. Jeroen plays drums in various bands and projects, teaches drums and vocals, and is also the lead singer of the tribute band Tribute to TOTO.
