Niels de Beijer (Turbulence) grew up in Eersel in Brabant and started playing drums at the age of 10. After taking lessons for a few years, he started playing in a band. Here he trained and expanded his tight sense of rhythm and versatility.
When he is not playing with his own band Turbulence, he regularly fills in for a number of other bands, from very young to advanced.
His roots lie in heavy rock music and his playing style is a cross between the groove of Ben Thatcher (Royal Blood) and the explosiveness of Dave Grohl (Queens Of The Stone Age, Nirvana, Foo Fighters) and Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters).
Niels always goes the extra mile without drawing attention to himself.
In addition to drumming with Turbulence, he is also busy behind the scenes promoting and managing the band. He is also the point of contact for organizers and venues where they play. His ambition is also to further build Turbulence into a bigger name and aim for 25 shows per year.
