Mourning Beloveth began in May of 1994 with the aim of playing Doom Death Metal in the style of Paradise Lost, Anathema and My Dying Bride in particular along with the more traditional style of Trouble, Candlemass, St. Vitus and Solitude Aeturnus. The first demo tape was created in 1996 and featured Frank on guitar/vocals, Darren on vocals, Brian on Guitar and Bass and Tim on Drums. Demo engineer Adrian later joined on Bass. This line up recorded the 2nd Demo Autumnal Fires in 1998 and the Debut album Dust in 2000. The band had gelled by then and went on to Record 2nd album The Sullen Sulcus in 2002 followed by a debut tour of Europe in early 2003 and a tour of America later the same year. A 2nd European tour followed in early 2004 around an appearance at the prestigious Doom Shall Rise Festival. The band then knuckled down to create album No.3 entitled A Murderous Circus. This album led to more touring and slightly bigger stages and venues. Then in 2006 the first line up change occurred when Adrian left to be replaced on Bass Guitar by Brendan. The new line up then recorded A Disease For the Ages in 2008 which was well received and led to more touring and festival appearances. The 2nd line up change happened in 2009 with Brian leaving to be replaced by Pauric on Guitar. Onwards then to 2013 for the Formless album and 2015 for the Rust and Bone album. The band is still active and currently working on new material with the line up consisting of Darren Vocals, Frank Guitar Vocals, Tim Drums, Brendan Bass, Pauric Guitar and Barry Guitar. So the 5 piece has turned into 6 piece. So that’s 6 albums and 5 European and 1 American Tour and numerous singles and split releases to date. An interesting fact is that Mourning Beloveth have played in Baroeg Rotterdam more than in any other venue anywhere. A stop there on each tour and numerous one off gigs and appearances at Dutch Doom Days, it was like a home from home for the band. Mourning Beloveth will try to have a new record out and be back on the road soon.
